I have been bored lately, news flash i know, so the last time I was in St. Cloud I got The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe and A PHB 3.5. I have read the PHB up and down at least three times now, and I have made myself a Sorcerer and a Halfling Rouge so when we start up playing again I can fill in whatever we need. Since I have a Barbarian. Plus that hitchikers book is the best thing i have ever read. It is so funny.

joe, if you have nothing constructive to say, then shut the fuck up
as to the douglas adams...that man is an absolute genius. i have most of the radio programs from the novels on my computer and i love listening to them. i've read through all six books dozens of times. i also have The Salmon Of Doubt, the collection of essays he wrote and the book he was working on when he died. it's pretty good...well actually, i own the salmon of doubt, but currently it's lost someplace in the void of jana-ness
but the d&d sounds delicious
i have pictures of you wearing your musical instrument on your head...they crack me up

I finished the series in a week, and everything he just said was as well put as any one could say, its a book you can't explain.

the hitchikers guide to the galaxy is probably the one book (or i should say 'books') i've read the most my entire life.
it's a trilogy comprised of six novels...and if you can get that sentance through your brain without a meltdown, then maybe you can comprehend the books
basically it's the adventures of a handful of characters as their lives intertwine with comedic intergallactic travel, hyperspace drive, improbability machines, time travel, the end of the universe, the destruction of the planet earth, and a book titled the hitchiker's guide to the galaxy which has a simple black cover and is emblazoned with the comforting phrase 'don't panic'.
it is probably the greatest science fiction/fantasy series ever written. superior to robert jordan, anne rice, alice borchardt, mercedes lackey, margaret weis, tracy hickman, terry prachett, and even, in some ways, neil gaimen
now, i'm not being blasphemous and bashing my favorite authors, but those authors listed above are gods among men, and douglas adams is a god among gods.
indeed

found out john malkovich is going to be in the hhgttg movie, which i'm pretty excited about, he's one of my favorite actors...
the actor playing arthur dent has the proper confused english gentlemen look
although they have ford prefect as black...and i guess i just never pictured him as black when reading the books
'it's at times like these, when i'm trapped in a vogon airlock, about to die of asphyxiation in deep space with a man from bertelgeuse, when i wish i had listened to what my mother told me when i was little' -arthur 'why, what did she tell you?' -ford 'i don't know...i didn't listen' - arthur
'that's the way the cookie is completely obliterated and destroyed' -- hhgttg
